FIRST DAY HIKE - CATALINA STATE PARK
Monday | 8am | Catalina State Park | $7/Car
Meet at the Equestrian Center parking area, join Volunteer Gaston Meloche for a hike on the 50-year trail loop. This is a seven-mile hike with 450 feet elevation gain. It will be a relatively easy hike and participants will return on an equally pleasing trail to make the loop.
FIRST DAY HIKE - PATAGONIA
Monday | 9am | Patagonia Lake State Park | $15/Car
The Overlook hike is approximately 1.5 miles (roundtrip) to the top of the hill for a beautiful view of the lake & surrounding area. The hike is of moderate difficulty with an elevation gain of 335 feet. Please call the visitor center or stop in to pre-register.
FIRST DAY HIKE - PICACHO PEAK
Monday | 10am | Picacho Peak State Park | $7/Car
Ranger-led moderate hike along the Calloway Trail. The trail offers expansive views of the Sonoran Desert. This one-hour, 1.4-mile round-trip hike does not go to the top of the Peak. The hike is suitable for ages six and older. Wear hiking boots, bring sun protection and at least one liter of water per person. Meet at Harrington Loop Trail Head. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
FIRST DAY HIKE - BENSON
Monday | 1pm | Kartchner Caverns State Park | $7/Car
Join Ranger Siria and Park Volunteers on a hike along the Foothills Loop Trail (2.5 miles), learn about the southwest, and encounter edible plants, materials used to make flour, dye, etc. Meet at the Discovery Center for a moderate hike. Bring water, snacks, and suitable hiking shoes. Dogs on a 6-foot or shorter leach are welcome, bring the kids for some family-friendly fun.
NEW YEAR'S DAY MOZART CONCERT

Featuring pianist Alexander Tentser and instrumentalists from the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and True Concord, known as the St. Michael's Piano Quartet, will benefit Interfaith Community Services.
