BLACK FRIDAY RESOURCES
We did some searching for you to find websites that show the best Black Friday Deals.
If you’re an early bird, you can find a list of stores that are open on Thanksgiving Night here. We found two great sites that compiled top-tier items that you will want to nab while they’re on sale this weekend. You can search through those sites here and here.
If you want to avoid the chaos of Black Friday, we still have our regular list of events compiled.
EVENTS
THANKSGIVING CROSS-COUNTRY CLASSIC - 5K & 1.5 MILE FUN RUN
Thursday | 8am | Reid Park
Work up an unforgettable Thanksgiving appetite with a European-style 5K around Reid Park. Separate men’s and women’s events create a fun opportunity to cheer on friends and family as they hurdle hay bales and water jumps. A team division is available. Great prizes include “turkeys” and pumpkin pies!
PACC BLACK FUR-DAY MEGA ADOPTION WEEKEND
Friday | 10am-4pm | Pima Animal Care Center
Black Fur-Day adoption party includes adoptable pets, free gifts, music, food, and raffle prizes! Adoption fees will be waived this weekend.
FARMERS’ MARKET
Fridays | 10am-2pm | Banner UMC
Bringing the freshest produce and other local food products to the faculty, staff, patients, students, and public. With over 20 vendors, there is sure to be something for everyone.
ENCHANTED SNOWFALL
Fridays & Saturdays | 6pm | La Encantada | Free
The entire family can see snow falling in the beautiful courtyard. Stop by and sip on yummy hot chocolate {provided by Blanco Tacos + Tequila} and live music!
HOLIDAY ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR
Saturday | 9am-4pm | Reid Park | Free
140 vendors from all over the Southwest, ranging from artists, crafters, photographers, painters, potters, jewelers, and more. The Thanksgiving weekend fair has become a tradition for many holiday shoppers for more than 30 years.
STARFARI
Saturday | 6-9pm | International Wildlife Museum | $10
Spend the evening going on a Starfari at the International Wildlife Museum! Tucson Amateur Astronomy will have telescopes set up outside for stargazing. There will be an inflatable planetarium inside the museum with animal constellation shows. There will be nocturnal animal crafts and activities. Fun for all ages!
GEOLOGY WALK
Sunday | 9am | Catalina State Park | $7/vehicle
Learn about the geology of the park from experienced geologist, Karen. Specifics such as mountain range formation and rock identification will be covered, as well as much more! This several-hour walk traverses the awe inspiring southern Arizona desert. Please bring plenty of water and wear appropriate shoes. Meet at the Picnic Area Ramada about ten minutes before planned departure.
